Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs Cameos Lift Delhi Capitals After Middling Start

Delhi Capitals started on a disappointing note as Jake Fraser-McGurk was dismissed for 9 runs by Jofra Archer. Karun Nair was run out for a duck after a poor mix-up with Abishek Porel, who anchored the innings with 49 off 37 deliveries. Porel and KL Rahul (38 off 32) steadied the innings with a 63-run partnership.

However, both batters fell while attempting to accelerate the scoring. Skipper Axar Patel and young batter Tristan Stubbs provided late fireworks to help DC post a competitive total. Axar smashed 34 off 14, and Stubbs scored an unbeaten 34 runs off 18. Delhi Capitals finished with 185 runs in their 20 overs.

Mitchell Starc Named Player of the Match After Leading Delhi Capitals to Victory

Chasing 189, Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 37) and Sanju Samson (31 off 19) added 61 runs for the Rajasthan Royals. However, Samson had to retire hurt due to a rib injury. Riyan Parag (8) was dismissed by a brilliant delivery from Axar Patel. Jaiswal failed to convert his knock into a big one after miscuing a shot off Kuldeep Yadav.

Nitish Rana (51 off 28) and Dhruv Jurel (26 off 17) then added a 49-run partnership for the third wicket, taking Rajasthan closer to the target. Rana was dismissed by a perfect inswinging yorker from Mitchell Starc. Starc restricted Rajasthan to just eight runs in the final over, forcing the match into a Super Over.

Starc was the hero for Delhi Capitals, finishing with figures of 1-36. In the Super Over, he conceded only 11 runs and dismissed two Rajasthan batsmen via run-outs
